How and What to Recycle

PLASTICS:  You may recycle plastics marked 1 through 7. Lids & caps should be removed and placed in with your regular garbage. Containers should be rinsed and crushed when possible.

GLASS:  Clear, green and brown bottles & jars. Remove lids and rinse bottles and jars.  DO NOT include drinking or window glass, ceramics, Pyrex, or light bulbs.  DO NOT break any glass for recycling.

ALUMINUM AND BI-METAL CANS:  Aluminum food and beverage cans only.  Any bi-metal food containers such as vegetables, fruit, soup & juice.  Rinse and crush whenever possible.  Aerosol cans, aluminum foil, pie tins, siding, hangars, etc. are NOT acceptable for recycling.

NEWSPAPERS AND OTHER PAPER PRODUCTS:
Newsprint should be tied in bundles or placed in brown paper bags. Junk mail, cereal boxes, phone books, office paper, magazines, copy paper, and newspaper inserts should be tied in bundles or placed in brown paper bags in the same manner as newspapers. Corrugated cardboard is now accepted for recycling.
Please cut and tie in bundles the size of a newspaper, no thicker than 12” or cut and place in brown paper bags. Please do not use plastic bags to bundle any papers or cardboard products.
Note:  Pizza boxes are not recyclable; they are trash!

Thank you for your efforts to reduce garbage in our landfills!
Remember, it it’s not properly prepared, it is STILL trash!

DO NOT SAVE FOR RECYCLING:
Styrofoam, bottles from motor oil, car wax, anti-freeze or insecticide containers.  No
